Weddings cost more than anyone would like them to, so we decided to try taking our own engagement shots. However, in doing this things are bound to not go right… Problems included: a lost remote shutter, tripods, running over to get in place and having the shutter go off once after 10 seconds. Despite this, along with the fact that I didn’t set up the best lighting, and we were squinting some in the sun, I’m still happy with how these turned out and wanted to share

It’s hard wrapping my head around what happened 3 years ago, and I think it hit’s me harder every year. When I think that peers of mine didn’t have had the last 3 years that I have had, it’s kind of unfathomable.

After it all happened, it was weird very being in Blacksburg. Everyone outside of town had heard on CNN/everywhere and were soo supportive, but it was a very strange place to be. I wasn’t planning on it, but I did make my way down to campus for the vigil in the days following the shooting and it struck a cord with me. I kind of finally saw our community come together that was effected and it helped the healing. Thought I’d share the pictures I took that night with my point and shoot Canon.

We Remember. Never Forget. We are Virginia Tech.

I am currently home in Washington D.C. and there is lots of snow. Lots of it. I decided to do this Time-lapse of the impending doom out the window so I could get a steady shot. The first shot was around noon and I took a shot every half an hour until around 8pm. It really started to snow late at night, and I will have some cool shots ground zero tomorrow.

Greenville Gets Ice – View of a Pine Tree

When I think of Greenville, South Carolina weather I think of scorching hot summers, but hardly snow or ice. Mother nature left us an inch of ice the other night, and the trees looked amazing.

Richard and Erin had a beautiful ceremony at Arlington Presbyterian Church in Arlington, VA followed one of the most fun receptions I have ever attended at Old Town Hall in Fairfax, VA. I was once again a groomsmen in this wedding, as I was in Nathan’s the month before. Just like with Nathan’s though, I want to add a note saying that I didn’t get to spend tons of time shooting pictures, however I got help from Kristen, Dan and Lindi and I want to thank them for taking some of these shots.

The atmosphere at this wedding was of joy and celebration and the dancing was a total blast. Hopefully the pictures will help show how fun of a day this was.

Meet Richard. He is one of my best friends and an amazing guy who was very lucky to get married to our friend Erin. With the permission I have received, I am going to poke a little fun at Richard, but it’s really just hilarious and all in good fun.
