Nathan and Rachel 2009.10.10
Rachel was soo happy the whole day and Nathan consistently smiles more around her then I have ever seen him smile before. I’m glad they found eachother! Congrats!
Taking lots of pictures while being a groomsman in a wedding and being sick at the same time can prove to be difficult. I got to take a few pictures though, and got to learn more about wedding photography by watching their photographer.
Their photographer was really awesome at setting up shots like the one of where they are on the couch, which is a shot I would never have thought of. Things we kept hearing were to turn our chins to face the camera and for people to relax their shoulders, but it helped show me that photography isn’t only taking the picture. It’s a lot about how you interact with the people, and how you “arrange” them, so to speak. The photographer was balanced things well because she had and made it pretty lighthearted but was making sure she got good shots. The last picture is one of her shooting them on the dance floor.
More knowledge is always a good thing

You probably already noticed (being that it made the cut for your website) but the increasing smiles from left to right is a really cool effect. I didn’t know you were this big into photography. Your work is impressive, and I hope you continue to excel in the art. I’m trying to take some quality photos of my little girl now (7 mos. old) and it’s a great thing to be able to look back and remember those important moments.
